Zack and I had a good talk yesterday regarding many things, and one thing that came up was the old Batman animated series. This is one of the best incarnations of Batman in my opinion, from the voices to the opening sequence. So, Discuss.

Tyler and I went half-sies on that series for DvD the other day and it is amazing. But I think the old Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles win

I don't know, for me its a tie between Batman and Gargoyles. Both had strong characters, linking plots, and interesting stories. In actuality, both were really advanced as far as cartoons go, for their time. I think the nod goes to Gargoyles, though, as it had the guts to present a strong and mature story admist Darkwing Duck and Alladin.

I liked Gargoyles. It was pretty cool. I also liked SWAT Cats and Pirates of Dark Water. In fact, I loved Pirates of Darkwater

I personally like each show for different reasons. When the hero is all-powerful, you have to have more of a story to make it float. Gargoyles had a better, more connected story than, say, Batman, in part because the heros had to have more of a challenge than a mortal man in a costume. Batman had great villians, but I don't remember any real arcing plots, save for the Al-Ghoul plots, that connected. And on the other end of the extreme, you have Superman the animated series, which is mostly plot driven, at least after the first season, because unless you give each villian Krytonite then it's pretty boring.
