Ok, this one is probably the most complicated shows I've ever seen, and I haven't seen enough to truly understand all the plotlines. I will, however, try to say what I know.
Alchemy is like magic, but slightly different. I imagine it as science and magic squished together, and it has rules. Primary among these is The Rule of Equivilent Trade. This means that to gain something, you must give up something of equal value. The laws of Alchemy prevents things such as cross-type tranmutation. Metal can become gold, but a rock can't be turned into a puppy, or anything non-mineral.
Ok, There are several main characters. Edward Elrich is the primary Protagonist. He is also called "The Fullmetal Alchemist" due to his automail arm and leg. Automail limbs are fully mobile prosthetics that connect to the nervous system. His brother, Alphonse Elrich appears to be the largest character in the show. In reality, he is Eds younger brother, and has no body. This is explained in the show fully. There are many other characters, and also an interesting set of villians, the Homonculus. These are the physical manifestation of the deadly sins; Sloth, Greed, Pride, Wrath, Lust, Envy and Gluttony. This is a show that is worth watching, but try to catch it from the beginning and see it all, or you'll be completely lost.
9.5/10

Ok, due to cartoon network breaking the show into two seasons, the first part it running this summer from Mon-Wed at 1 A.M.
If you can catch it, I advise you to do so.
