So the ex-host of TSS (Which sucks now BTW) got some nice info from an MS employee on x-box 2
1) Hard Drive... Yes! There was some speculation that MS was going to take the HD out to make it more difficult to Mod.
2) Flash based HD... Yes!!! It was told to me that the HD was going to be flash based... small size fast access... BAM!
3) No Stupid Dongle DVD playback... Yes!!! The reason that the first Xbox didn't have built in DVD playback is a simple one, Sony owns the Intellectual Property rights for DVD playback. Nuf said...
4) Xbox II at E3... Hell Yes!!! There will be an Xbox II maybe more at E3 this year...
5) Xbox II release date announced at E3... another Hell Yes!!! MS will be announcing a release date for Xbox II...
(All the #ed stuff was copied from his site)

Let's just hope it beats the X-box 1.
The X-box features a 20 Gig harddrive, a bastardized GeForce3 video card (NO DX9 support which is critical for new games), NO RAM, and a Pentium 3 733Mhz processor. Who the hell runs a P3 for gaming, even in the year 2000? The PS2 had at least 1Ghz processor in it. I mean come on, did IQ's just drop suddenly? Did the people at Microsoft forget every important detail about computer gaming. And what's with no RAM, not even virtual memory on the harddrive? The only thing the harddrive is used for is savegames, what about internal cache files to speed up load times?
So, for X-box 2, let's hope they get at least a 2Ghz processor, a video card that supports DX9 games, some RAM, and maybe a harddrive that is used for MORE than just savegames.

Well even with only a Gforce 3 and a pentium 3 the x-box is as of right now, the most surperior of the consoles on the market. I think when it comes down to it most people have become fanboys of sony and refuse to give x-box a chance. 98% of all people who don't like the x-box have never played one for more then 30 minutes and if they have they just had a crappy game *CoughAquamanwastheworstgameevermadecough* but from what Ive heard x-box: xenon will be a much more powerfull system

Oh no doubt it will be better, but I'll just stick with my computer as it will always up to date. ;D
I do think that if microsoft made like expansion packs aka N64 for the X-box, it would be more appealing to us computer gamers who don't like having to buy a new system every 5 years. It's always much easier just to update existing systems.

in its defence, NU64 had some awesome games. I just spent roughly three hours playing Perfect Dark, a game I know still ranks high on Jonathan and mines' lists. Goldeneye, Starfox, Shadows of the Empire, all qualitly classics.
Actually, Shadows pretty much sucked. But we were all desperate to fly a starfighter, and I still like the characters from the novel the best.

One problem with the XBox2 is that it almost certainly will not run XBox 1 games. They're using a PowerPC processor (The G5, or something like it) and ATI graphics. Unless they manage to implement some REALLY low-level emulation (possible now that they own VirtualPC), you'll need to keep your old XBox around.

See, that is the HUGE power that the PS2 had. You could play every PS1 game on it easily, just drop it in. Nintendo never caught on to that, changing every time, except on their game boy (subsequently, game boy is the bet selling Nintendo console. Coincidence?)
Ignoring those games that came from the original console cuts out a lot of prospective buyers.

Well MS has shown concern about this, but with all the upgrades being made to the x-box there won't be much more room to add the ability to play the older games without adding another 10 pounds (Hell it already weighs a quater of a ton)
