I just got back from the midnight showing, and I must say, it was....different.... than I thought it would play out. The plot started twisting right at the beginning, and never stopped. I'm making an effort not to talk about to plot, and I'd appreciate no one else doing so also, until we've all seen it...although that probably won't take long. Anyway, special effects were better than before, and the plot had enough turns to scare a rally driver. The only thing I really didn't care for was the ending....
***Spoiler Alert***
IT DOESN'T REALLY END!!! There's an unwritten 'to be continued' and a character introduction to boot! Although it made me happy as an actor I like was introduced at the end. Anyway, all this will probably make less sense once I get sleep, but oh well, thems the breaks. Goodnight, and watch out for Pirates
9/10

I felt sort of cheated on the ending. Like, I bought a book but the last few pages were ripped out. Disney knows they can do that, and like drones thousands of movie fans will shuffle in to see the next chapter. Yes, serialized entertainment has been around since Dickens (Thanks Ms. Cambell!) but that doesn't mean I have to like it.
Lord of the Rings made me want to see what happened next because I was interested. Pirates makes me want to boycott it because they cheated.

I've enjoyed the Pirate movies so I'm genuinely interested in seeing what happens.

The one thing I like about it is that it almost assures that they have a good script worked up for the third one, because the Pirates Dynasty is now probably their most popular line, and they're gonna try extra hard for this one to set records...or at least I hope.

Well they began filming it during the second one. I've also heard some rumors of Sparrow's father being in it as well.

Yeah, they've signed Keith Richards to play him. Which is kinda interesting, as Johnny Depp says that he based the character of Jack Sparrow on him, so Keith won't have to do much acting.

That could also be used as an argument as for why they would just slack off. I mean, it will get viewed no matter what. Lets hope they take the light side and try to make a decent option.

But yeah, I hope they do a good job.

You have no idea how much that bothers me. I have 1 and 3 on the regular DVD's, but recieved the special edition of 2 as a gift. Now, of course, they look silly sitting beside each other on a shelf, and aesthetic qualities aside, I really can't justify spending that much more money for so little extra stuff.
