This movie is several hours too long.
Thats really the biggest impression I had. Well, the first and foremost. It just drags on and on to the point at which you don't really care at all.
Which isn't to say I cared in the first place. Teenage girl opinions aside, Orlando Bloom is NOT a good actor. At all. He acts like I would imagine a piece of plywood might, shoved into similar situations. Bland at best.
There is a plot somewhere in this movie, but really, I don't care. Its pretty nonsensical up until the second half anyway. Something about a guy, kills some people, holy war, etc. Not really well explained.
I guess I'm just dissapointed, because the start of the movie had such promise. In one of the opening scenes, Legolas stabs a priest through with a hot, freshly shaped blade, then hurls him into the blacksmith fire. Remember this scene, because its all the coolness you will get ofr quite a while.
I'm too tired right now to explain why else not to see this, in detail. It's slow. The fight scenes do this irritating blur-motion thing, which accomplishes nothing besides making it difficult to know what the hell is going on. Theres a love story, I think, but it doens't really make any more sense either. Orlando is supposed to be the perfect knight, except that he totally forgets about his recently dead wife and child and has sex with a married woman. This, however, is never adressed as anything besides the ordinary.
The battle scenes are cool I guess. Some stuff blows up. The ending battle rips off the huge battle in Return of the King in so many ways it hurts. Didn't Orlandolas know he was doing all the same actions?
Ah, whatever. This movie kinda sucks.
3/10
